Vendors from Africa plan to attend
Thousands flock from all over the world to stay on top of the latest and greatest in the oil and gas industry. The Permian Basin International Oil Show starts on Tuesday, but concerns about the Ebola Virus come with it.
"We've been in contact with the health department, our local health department who is in touch with the CDC," said Oil Show Executive Director Tony Fry.
Just in case Ebola comes to Ector County.
"What preparations do we need to make?" said Fry.
For the Permian Basin International Oil Show. A question Executive Director Tony Fry asked in a prep meeting months ago.
"We give them a pre-registration list and we update that, so they can see where people are coming from," said Fry.
While Fry tells me no vendors from Africa plan to attend, guests could be a different story.
"We do have some from Africa signed up as attendees," said Fry.
"Knowing that, in the back of my mind, I would be a little concerned," said set-up crew member Mark Rodriguez.
